The cycle of scientific works is dedicated to the development of complex approach to conservation and revival of rare GentianaL.species based on the assessment of their ecological-physiologic, molecular-genetic characteristics and application of biotechnological methods. For the first time there was done the analysis of the populations’ state with taken into account their ecological and genetic parameters, forecasting the perspectives of existence and development of populations under the influence of a certain combination of factors. On the basis of studied ecological and coenotic, molecular and genetic, ontogenetic peculiarities and trophic needs of gentians, the authors made and tested the adaptation technique of grown in vitroplants to conditions ех vitroand held repatriation of these plants in natural conditions of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
There were developed ecological and genetic grounds for preservation of gentians with the use of biotechnological methods; suggested the approach to classification of gentians populations by the degree of their stability; optimization principles of assessment of populations state. The DNA bank of G. luteaL.from theUkrainian Carpathians was created.
The suggested approach may be used to assess the state of revival of other gentians and close to them mountainous species. The results of complex evaluation of populations’ state enable to forecast their abnormalities on initial stages and facilitate preservation of biodiversity that is relevant within the most important trends of scientific research determined by International program document “The Convention on Biological Diversity” (1992) and the Presidium of National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine.
The obtained experimental data are of considerable fundamental and practical importance, and the approaches used are comparable with the world tendencies. Such a cycle of scientific works is pioneering and foreground not only for this country but world science as a whole. The results of the research were published in 4 Chapters of Springer Publishing House monographs and 76 scientific published works, comprising 32 articles with 9 in international journals having total impact-factor 3,609,and according to Scopusdata base 4 of them are abstracted; 41 abstracts of reports at scientific conferences and symposia including 27 international ones. The authors were granted three patents on a useful model. General number of referring to the works is 48; summary reference index is 8, h-index(SciVerse Scopus) – 4.
