The formation and sustainable development of ecosystems is based on the ecological conditions of the respective landscapes. One of the priority areas for the formation of sustainable ecosystems and solving environmental problems at the local, regional and global levels is the optimal organization and land management of a certain area on a landscape basis, which allows to obtain the greatest effect from environmental measures. This approach is crucial for the use of river ecosystems, which are characterized by complex terrain and intense erosion. In our research, we proposed to form an integrated assessment of aquatic ecosystems sustainable development based on their landscape structure and production potential data (biodiversity and macrophyte numbers).

The aim of the work was to establish and substantiate the theoretical and methodological aspects of applying the landscape approach and production potential (species and morphogenetic indicators of macrophyte development stability) for ecological assessment of sustainable development of aquatic ecosystems in the Ukrainian Polissia. As a result of the research, the anthropogenic pressure on aquatic ecosystems within the Polissya landscapes was studied, in addition, the main factors, critical areas and recommendations for improving their condition were identified. As a result of research the structural and functional features of macrophytes species diversity within ecological zones in areas with different anthropogenic pressure within Polissya water ecosystems are determined. The scientific work also determines the threshold concentrations of macrophytes sensitivity to the content of heavy metals in coastal soils and bottom sediments, analyzes the productive potential of biodiversity in terms of ecological stability and plasticity using species criteria and constructs correlation levels is a basic component of deferred biomonitoring. The paper also determines the degree of influence of the main groups of block indices of water quality and the presence of toxic compounds in bottom sediments and coastal soils on the above indicators of delayed and short-term (instantaneous) biomonitoring of aquatic ecosystems.

In the presented work morphogenetic changes in some plant species are recorded for the first time and regularities of distribution of indices of integral fluctuation asymmetry depending on water quality for the Ukrainian Polissia territory as a basic component of short-term (instantaneous) biomonitoring are determined.

The lack of up-to-date methodological support in terms of biotic impact assessment fatally increases the risks of biodiversity loss and environmental functions associated with biodiversity, and thus increases the scientific and applied value of the presented work. Scientific developments are the basis for transforming the environmental impact assessment procedure into an effective tool for biodiversity conservation and environmental quality management.
