Implementation of the scientific e-journal using the open Journal Systems platform: a way from idea to scientometric databases

The author theoretically substantiated and developed a scientific and methodological support of the electronic open journal systems (EOJS) use in scientific and pedagogical research.

The procedure of the electronic scientific journal implementation by using the Open Journal Systems software platform is proposed. The criteria for selection of scientific journals for inclusion in the leading international scientometric and abstract databases are considered.

The organizational and pedagogical processes of EOJS using in scientific and pedagogical researches are modeled; the corresponding method is developed.

The training materials for the scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers’ professional qualifications improvement are proposed. Recommendations for scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers on creating and maintaining an electronic scientific journal using Open Journal Systems are provided.

Number of publications: 38, including 1 monograph; 13 articles (11 of them in professional scientific editions, 2 –in foreign scientific editions; 8 articles are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science databases); 3 manuals (1 of them is individual); 1 recommendations for scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers; 1 curriculum; 1 collection of materials; 22 abstracts of reports in collections of scientific works and conference materials. The total number of publication citations/h-index according to the scientometric databases: Web of Science – 18/3; Scopus – 1/1; Google Scholar – 434/9.
