The annotation summarizes the results of investigation of the distribution and prevention methods of Nosema disease of honey bees in the apiaries in Ukraine.
It was established that Nosema ceranae is present in most of the analyzed samples and prevails over Nosema apis in the most regions of Ukraine.
A comparative analysis of the influence of doses of the invasion of spores Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae (5×102 ‒ 5×107 spores per bee) on the dynamics of their extinction showed, that invasion by the spores of both Nosema species, and N. apis and N. ceranae do not effect on the bee’s mortality. However, they effect on the rate of their extinction, high invasive load ‒ accelerating the natural extinction of bees, and the low ‒ on the contrary, slow down. It is assumed that the number of Nosema sp. generations before bee’s death conditioned by the dose of the pathogen and host energy reserves.
Influence of biologically active substances of animal origin in different concentrations (0,1; 0,5; 1 %) (homogenate of the waxworm Galleria mellonella L. and drone honey bee larvae Apis mellifera L.) and plant origin (complex plant preparation KAS-81 (0,35 %) and its components ‒ pine bud extract Pinus sylvestris L. (0,0175 %) and the wormwood Artemisia absinthium L. (0,3325 %)), compared to the most common antibiotics against Nosema spp. (Nosemat and Fumagillin-B), on the dynamics of bee extinction at Nosema disease was investigated in laboratory conditions.
The efficiency of the investigated substances has been verified on bee families with a natural invasive background.
Based on the findings, developed and implemented into the practice of veterinary medicine «Methodological recommendations for the diagnostics and prevention of Nosema disease of Honey bees», 2016.
