Criminal liability for violation of environmental legislation in Ukraine: law-making and law-enforcement problems

The scientific work considers the problems of criminal-legal counteraction to violations of environmental legislation in Ukraine. The objective, subjective and qualifying features of the studied group of criminal offenses are consistently determined. Based on the results of the work, a concept of criminal-legal support for effective environmental protection in Ukraine has been developed, proposals have been formulated for improving the current criminal and draft legislation, as well as scientifically based recommendations aimed at optimizing law enforcement.

The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that within its framework, for the first time, a holistic, systematic and based, in particular, on a thorough study of the provisions of regulatory legislation and materials of law enforcement practice, approach to solving the problem of increasing the effectiveness of criminal law environmental protection in Ukraine has been developed.

The scientific and practical significance of the work lies in the fact that they are already used: 1) in lawmaking; 2) in law enforcement activities; 3) in scientific activities; 4) in the educational process. Unlike the existing achievements of other domestic and foreign authors, the obtained scientific product represents a holistic theoretical and applied model of increasing the effectiveness of criminal law environmental protection in Ukraine, which is based on various branches of law.

Number of publications: 1 - individual monograph, 1 - collective; 1 collective textbook; 8 scientific articles in journals included in category "A" of the List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine and periodicals included in the scientometric databases Scopus or WoS; 18 articles in journals included in category "B", 22 abstracts of reports.
