The research work is devoted to solving the urgent scientific and technical problem of increasing the energy security of the state by ensuring the reliability of sucker rod pumping units (SRPU), which has scientific novelty and practical value. The authors conducted scientific research and developed:
- technologies for sucker rods strengthening by surface plastic deformation and applying metal and metal-polymer coatings (the UDSHA-1 installation for shot-blast strengthening and metallization of rods and the UVSCH-25 installation for strengthening rods by rotating brushes at the NGVU “Dolynaftogas” were introduced), sucker rods with metal-polymer coatings worked in wells for 10-15 years, which is 2 times higher than serial ones;
- fiberglass sucker rods designs for deep wells (up to 2500-3000 m) were developed and implemented: technical conditions TU U 29.5-13741713-002.2006 and TU U 13741713.001-2000 were developed, confirmed by patents of Ukraine No. 29783A, 35751A, No. 35781A, 50094A, 50093A; were implemented in the NGVU “Dolynanaftogas”. The “Komplast” plant, Kharkov and LLC VNP “Ukrizolit”, Svitlovodsk organized serial production of fiberglass rods and pipes;
- in the NGVU "Dolynanaftogas" of PJSC "Ukrnafta" rotators and sucker rods with scrapers, developed in accordance with TU U 11.2 - 0013530-117-2002 "Rotator of a column of sucker rods" and TU U 11.2 - 0013530-117-2002 "Sucker rods with scrapers-protectors", have been introduced and annually used in series for the period from 2002 to 2023, which makes it possible to combat paraffin formation and increase the resource of sucker rods. Rotators and scrapers-protectors are manufactured by Boryslav Central Oil and Gas Production Plant of PJSC "Ukrnafta", (technical specifications have been developed), confirmed by patents of Ukraine No. 49211A and No. 50092A; were developed and implemented fiberglass bandages and insulating composite coating for repairing oil spill pipelines, a theory of reinforcement was created, were developed technical conditions (TU U 80.3–02070855-003–2004 and TU U 26.1-02070855-003-2010), were made prototypes, industrial testing were conducted and implemented in oil fields, patents of Ukraine No. 60506, No. 69083, No. 69157 were received, patent for a useful model No. 15437 was obtained.
The obtained scientific novelty of the results is based in the development of a methodology for designing effective and reliable SRPU equipment, which is based on the use of a systems approach, simulation models and applied CAD, statistical failure models and knowledge bases, testing, control and diagnostic methods, which are integrated into the information system for supporting the life cycle of SRPU equipment.
The developed sucker rods with metal-polymer coatings, continuous rod rotators, connections of fiberglass, carbon fiber and hybrid solid and hollow rods, insulating composite bandages and coatings for pipeline repair have better performance compared to Ukrainian and international analogues, are implemented in the oil industry, and provide a significant economic effect.
Number of publications: 7 collective monographs (including 1 textbook), 24 articles in journals included in category "A" and 33 articles in journals included in category "B". The total number of references to the authors' publications/h-index for the work according to the databases is: Web of Science 86/5, Scopus 144/8, Google Scholar 308/10. 20 patents for inventions of Ukraine, 2 patents for utility models and 3 certificates of registration of copyright for a work have been obtained.
