The purpose of the work is the industrial production of parts for ammunition, small arms and military equipment by simultaneously solving a threefold problem: the creation of new materials, the development of physical and chemical processes of technologies, personnel training and the development of industrial production of products of multifunctional application from powders of metals, alloys, refractory compounds and composites.
About 150 parts for firearms, special equipment, and ammunition manufactured using powder injection molding technology were introduced.
Innovative technologies for manufacturing lightweight composite ceramic armor of the 6th protection class for personal protection and protection of equipment from small arms fire were developed.
New metal-ceramic materials for armor-impact cores of increased penetration capacity were developed.
A number of high-temperature structural ceramic reinforced materials for spacecraft engine components have been developed.
Technologies for improving the efficiency of ammunition warheads by using pyrophoric dispersed materials and thermite mixtures were developed.
Technologies of multifunctional electric arc and cold sprayed coatings for restoration and protection against wear of parts, as well as coatings based on MAX phases were developed.
The technology of diffusion splicing of optical parts for the manufacture of components of laser systems with high peak power was developed and implemented. A number of optical and superconducting materials have been created for the needs of new generation aircraft, as well as for stabilizing laser weapon platforms on them.
The results of the work were applied in a number of special-purpose products for armaments and military equipment (ammunition for high-precision weapons, air defence systems, missile technology, armored vehicles, military target designation and rangefinder devices, etc.), which contributed to meeting the relevant needs of domestic enterprises, including Yuzhnoye State Design Office, KNVO "FORT" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, SE "Antonov", SE "Sudmash", Central Research Institute of Armaments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, State Kyiv Design Bureau "Luch", PrJSC "Ramzai", SE "Zhytomyr Armored Plant", etc.
Number of publications: 6 collective monographs, 246rticles in journals included in category "A" (including 204 in foreign journals) and 57 articles in journals included in category "B". The total number of references to the authors' publications/h-index on the work according to the databases is respectively: Web of Science 2210/26, Scopus 2558/27, Google Scholar 3344/32. 5 patents for invention of Ukraine, 31 utility model patents have been obtained.
