The socio-economic doctrine of Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi, who was a theorist and practitioner of the Christian socio-economic policy of the church, was researched on the basis of archival materials, periodicals, museum exhibits, creative heritage of Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi, Ukrainian and foreign historiography. The Greek Catholic Church, in particular Archbishop Andrei, played an important role in building a democratic society. The Metropolitan considered economic independence and economic self-organization to be the starting point of political independence. It urged him to take active part in socio-economic life. He managed to establish himself not only as a theorist, but also an organizer, entrepreneur and cooperator, promoter of economic education and national manufacturers; he was a shareholder and philanthropist who worked for the benefit of the society.
