Models and methods of determining the load of railway vehicles for containers transportation

The work is devoted to the creation of scientific foundations for increasing the efficiency of the operation of railway vehicles for container transportation under the most unfavourable loading modes.

The scientific novelty of the work consists in the fact that, for the first time, models and methods have been developed for determining the load of railway vehicles for container transportation while the movement of combined trains by sea on railway ferries and shunting collisions of platform wagons loaded with containers or tank containers with elastic, viscous and elastic - viscous connections in fittings. A mathematical model was set-up to determine the longitudinal dynamic load of a container with walls made of sandwich panels placed on a platform wagon while a shunting collision. The patterns of dynamic loading of dry cargo containers and tank containers while transported as part of combined trains on railway ferries are determined. The mathematical models of the dynamic loading of the load-bearing structures of wagons were refined, taking into account the use of elastic or viscous connections with means of combined transport. The regularities of the dynamic loading of dry cargo containers and tank containers placed on platform wagons while shunting collisions, taking into account elastic, viscous or elastic-viscous connections in the fittings, were determined.

The models and methods of determining the load of railway vehicles of container transportation are formed within the framework of the study and they are relevant not only for Ukraine, but also for foreign countries. This is explained by the intensification of the exploitation of container transportation in the world, including in intercontinental communication.

The main provisions and recommendations of the scientific work were submitted for consideration and further implementation to the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Research Institute Carriage Engineering" (Kremenchuk), and they were also successfully implemented in the educational process of UkrSURT.

Based on the preliminary calculations, the economic effect of the implementation of the concept of container fittings in the program of their repair of 100,000 units per year is equal to UAH 430.29 thousand. Considering the trends of intensification of the operation of container transportation, an increase of the economic effect of the proposed implementation is also predicted.

Number of publications: 2 monographs published in foreign publishing houses in English, 50 articles are included in the „A“ category (including 42 in foreign publications) and 28 articles in journals included in the „B“ category, 11 abstracts of reports. The total number of references to the author's publications/h-index by work according to the databases is Web of Science 151/6, Scopus 112/19, Google Scholar 1673/18, respectively. There are received 1 Ukrainian patent for an invention and 15 Ukrainian patents for utility models.
